West Midlands Combined Authority: Sustainable Market for Affordable Retrofit Technology (SMART) Hub

Location: West Midlands

Purpose: Local authorities and their partner organisations need to retrofit 1.2 million homes to achieve net zero by 2041. The SMART Hub supports local authorities with their delivery programmes and coordinates bids for retrofitting funding and represents the region in Whitehall.

Description: The SMART Hub helps to increase and improve applications for funding social housing retrofitting in the West Midlands. The Hub has already helped to reduce the funding and timescale pressures for local authorities and their partner organisations by supporting applications that have secured an excess of £10 million.

Funding: £7.5 million from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and £2.86 million from the Sustainable Warmth Competition
